SCOTT’S PROTEIN BALLS MAKES ITS NATURAL PRODUCTS EXPO WEST DEBUT WITH FIRST REFRIGERATED PROTEIN BALL

Company Continues to Expand Nationwide to Meet Consumer Demand

New York, NY (March 8, 2023) Scott’s® Protein Balls, a rapidly growing healthy protein snack company, is making its first appearance at Natural Products Expo West 2023 as it continues to add retail locations nationwide and introduce new flavors of the company’s popular protein balls (Booth #N341 North Hall). Founded in 2020, Scott’s Protein Balls was created by Co-Founder and CFO Scott Levine for his wife Lori Levine who, after a battle with breast cancer, was looking for a clean, soy-free, low-sugar snack she could take on the go instead of the protein bars she was used to eating. Lori, Co-Founder, and CEO wanted something that offered a clean, healthy alternative that didn’t sacrifice taste. “It started as a labor of love but became a business by accident due to strong demand for the product,” says Scott. The company has grown nearly 100% each year since launching.

The indulgent refrigerated plant-based protein balls, filled with superfood ingredients, are presently available in six flavors, including Peanut Butter Cacao, Mint Chocolate Chip, Brownie Batter, Confetti, Snickerdoodle, and Java Peanut Butter. Most recently the company launched Red Velvet in conjunction with Valentine’s Day as a limited-time series. Scott’s Protein Balls are 100% plant-based, allergen-friendly, and nutrient-dense. “We are disrupting the snack industry,” explains Lori. “We are the first protein ball in the refrigerated section, right next to fruits and vegetables. Our products are all about healthy ingredients without sacrificing taste.”

“We may add the Red Velvet ball permanently to our line due to the overwhelmingly positive response,” adds Lori.  The company is committed to introducing new flavors regularly to satisfy the varying personal tastes of its fans. Scott’s Protein Balls can currently be found in over 85 locations and multiple airports in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and North Dakota, with new retailers and locations being added regularly.

“Scott’s Protein Balls are a perfect addition to our extensive healthy snack offerings,” says Joe Schneider, Head of Produce, King Kullen. “This is the first time a healthy protein ball snack is in our refrigerated section and it’s long overdue. We look forward to a long relationship with the company as we continue our commitment to bringing healthy snack options to our customers.”

According to NielsonIQ, consumers are increasingly showing a greater awareness of nutrition. They want to combine eating pleasure and health care. Unlike a few years ago, they no longer want to compromise between saving time and their health. More than 40% of American consumers say they want to be healthier, and a majority are looking for a balance between health and eating pleasure. Scott’s Protein Balls are satisfying this demand with a revolutionary new protein snack alternative that delivers taste and healthy ingredients.

At Expo West, Scott’s Protein Balls will be showcasing all of its products while educating attendees about their unique points of difference compared to other similarly-perceived snacks. In addition, the company’s booth will highlight the coming together of health, taste, and refrigeration. They will be hosting a Fast Fuel Happy Hour on March 8 and 9 at their booth #N341 from 2:30-3:30 pm.

Scott’s Protein Balls come in 4-pack, 10-pack, and 20-pack packages, always arriving fresh and on ice when shipped. “The smaller packs are ideally suited for on-the-go snacking and fast fuel,” says Lori. “The larger packs are perfect to stock up on and can also be stored in the freezer.” New SKUs are expected as the company grows in both category market share and distribution throughout its various channels. The company is committed to the fight against breast cancer and donates 1% of sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation while also giving back to many other charitable causes. • Lori Levine is an eternal optimist and after undergoing breast cancer treatment, she learned she had to upgrade her snacks to upgrade her health. She and her husband Scott became accidental entrepreneurs after he lovingly created quality protein balls made from tasty, easily recognizable ingredients that are as convenient as they are healthy and delicious! Even better? 1% of all sales are donated to Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) to help support breast cancer research. #betheend.
